The Church of God in Hayes

Closure Notice

Following the Government’s recommendation concerning social distancing, and now their closure of schools, we feel it is only right that we cancel all our regular Church Services and Friday Club, as well as our Quiz and Chips event on Saturday 21st March, until further notice.

The elderly, and those with underlying health conditions, are most vulnerable to the serious effects of COVID-19, so we wish to minimise the spread of the virus. Many who attend our services and clubs are young & healthy, but we want to act responsibly out of love for the elderly and the sick in our wider families and communities.

We know this will be a disappointment for some of you; especially Friday Club kids where it will mean a loss of valuable time spent with other young people, as well as an hour or so off for your parents!

For Younger club members we will endeavor to post around copies of Eagles Wings and an Easter booklet in due course. Older club members can stay connected with us through social media.

We will keep you updated on the status of Friday Club and our Regular Church Services via the church’s Facebook page (facebook.com/coghayes) and email (cog.hayes@gmail.com).

In the meantime, please let us know if you have urgent needs, we may be able to help with. All the members of the Church will continue to pray for the community at this time and that God will protect and bless you.

The Church of God in Hayes was established in 1938 and linked in fellowship with Churches of God across the world. Our core activities follow the example of the early Churches of God in Jerusalem – “Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day. They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.” (Acts 2:41-42)

While following the principles of these early churches we aim to be relevant to the community we are in and all are welcome to our regular and special events.
We offer a range of activities to share the message of Good news about Jesus. Jesus said to his disciples, “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” (John 10:10)
